| John, I think your style suits Orks/Orcs more than anything else I see you paint. I think you do desaturated so well that it really works when you paint models like this.
They look awesome. Putty they only get 6+ t-shirt saves and die by the dozen!
I think the painted squad will be getting killed first _________________ Dark Angels 1750 win/loss Record Win - 22 (The Dark Angels wiped some silly pod marines) Loss - 13 (Brice's Necrons wiped me) Draw - 2 (The 13th hold out in alpha take and hold)

That is where the shading comes in to play. Your extreme will most likely be a silver of sorts w/ a touch of color.
Take a look at this article....

Since I'm not an artist by trade what is desaturated - Muted correct?
Yeah - browns, greys, off tones tend to draw me to a more realistic style - althougth desat isn't necessarily realistic either. Then you can set the model up nice w/ the reds as the accent.
Orks are down and dirty. I generally like to paint them up. I can do eldar and other "clean" look models but I have more fun with the dirty stuff at times.

| Yeah, desaturated color is a less vibrant or muted version.
So normally it creates an earthy feeling. I think it really suits the way you paint (not that you can't paint clean, we all saw Eldrad).

| The article was well written and seemed rather informative. Save for my ignorance of how to do the shading and how to apply it. I think it would have helped. Im usually not this slow its just with something like this I would need someone showing me in person and watching the strokes to be able to grasp it properly. _________________ TAU 1750 ARMY Wins - 2 Chaos melts under the Tau Empire Guns Losses - 4 Damn Orks and Matt Draws - 1 with the green skins again
