A pretty good post that sums a lot of stuff up in a pretty simple way.

Understanding color theory (either by gut or knowledge) WILL make your models look better to the human eye.

Same here, color freshman year was my favorite freshman year studio.

I wish they would have let me take Daap classes, while I was there. I did a couple of extensive color projects way back in high school for my AP class. No Daap for non-Daap students is lame

haha yeah, except once upon a time it was, but not so much anymore. I've seen quite a few terrible students since they drop the portfolio requirement.

There are some god awful students in my class.

Portfolios to get in are whatever/not a bid deal, but they should drop people throughout imo. So that terrible people don't last until senior year.
