| I've been reading most of the rumors for the new codex and was wondering which squads or vehicles everyone thinks are pretty safe for the next codex. I'm still building my force regardless of rule changes, but didn't want to add something totally useless. | |

| Look at the dark angels and blood angels, that seems to be the new trend as far as mechanics, then just imagine a vanilla version of of those lists. And stay away from vehicles. | |

| I think landraiders look good for the new edition.
As well as rhinos. no that the 10 man squad is back for good you will see more rhinos. Razorbacks don't look bad either.
Other than that, same as what rob said. Both the DA and BA books will show you what to expect.

| I think the sexiest thing out there is attack bikes with multi meltas, but who knows if Ultramarines will get them or not, its split between BA/DA. I think Devastators with heavy bolters and/or missile launchers will be worth their weight in gold come 5th. Other than that you always need more bolter marines.
If you want to buy tanks I would go with in this order for safety: Rhinos, Razorback, Landraider Cruasder, Whirlwinds, & Vindicators. Stay away from Predators and Landspeeders until after 5th comes out.

| I was already planning on fleshing out my generic tactical, assault, and devastator squads and at least one tank. Now, with the Land Raider, what do you think is the best variant? | |

| With 5th in mind I would have to say the Cruasader because it will be able to fire most of, if not all of weapons on the move. Plus it holds 15 guys instead of 10. Keep your army list in mind though, you might need those two extra twin lascannons in your army. | |

| Promethius sounds right (flamers and all) but that might be some other LR I'm thinking of. | |

| The LR w/ the Whirlwind style missile launcher is the Helios. It doesn't have flamers, but has twin-linked Las Cannons in each Sponson.
The Prometheus, while seemingly SHOULD include a flamer, has twin-linked heavy bolters in the sponsons and a pintle-mounted storm bolter. The Prometheus is the "command-style" LR, as it also comes equipped with extra sensors / communications array, granting "Improved Comms," which allows a re-roll on a Reserves roll.
I think most of that is correct. Feel free to point out if I'm wrong, though.

| Though I'll also note that I'm not 100% convinced the Helios is worth the points if you're using it primarily for the Whirlwind missiles.
Helios - 260 pts VS. 75 Standard Whirlwind / 115 Hyperios Whirlwind
Point of Ref for those w/o Imperial Armour:
Hyperios AA Missile - 48" / 8 STR / 3 AP / Heavy1
Not a Barrage, but 8STR w/ 3 AP? Sounds like your tank buster there.
