Hey that twist at the end just called to me. Basic list will have no daemons, oblits, possessed, etc. But two DP's with lash to represent Alpha's Control of the environment.

hmm, that is a good idea.

Any idea how you will model things to represent that? (as in not making it a demon)

Yeah, I talked to Danny, and he found some Inquisitor sized models that will do. He's going to help me learn to sculpt and stuff like that. So hopefully it will be converted from the normal looking stuff.

you're going to make it a large man?

I would do a group of marines on a monster base. Some with snipers, camo and such. Then you could say they represent marines that are misdirecting the enemy or something.

I'm thinking make it large, like a part of a cliff or some such, with marines at different levels on the model. Perhaps scouts mixed in. Could be really awesome.

*Spoiler* Don't read if you don't want to know some things about Legion

Maybe, but know one knows what happened to Omegon, and the Cabal may have found info on the Primarch's creation. But I do like your idea Matt, I could use that as a backup plan.

That is true, but even then... a primarch is only so much taller than a marine. Hardly inquisitor size.

well the inquisitor models are about 54 mm tall. So double a regular marine model and then some.

Ooooh. Did not know that. Ok, your plan sounds the best, but I may have to plant them on something with grav units to simulate flying (you knew I wouldn't take a DP without it didn't you?). Thinking of sticking it on a Hive Tyrant sized base. That is 60 mm, right?

Yeah that is the right base.

Perhaps a landspeeder that is geared up to look as if it is a recon and misdirection vehicle. Extended area on the back to simulate a cab. Just make sure you opponent knows what it is. Very fluffy imo.

Although pre-heresy/chaotic armies really can't get grav vehicles. Hmm. Perhaps recon units with jet packs, makes sense to me, for when they need to get out of dodge quickly.

Man, flying makes it harder...

Yeah, but it has always been a part of the Alpha Legion fluff that they have been known to take aspirants for other chapters and "corrupt" them, so maybe they could steal a speeder or two. And if the Imperium doesn't know it's them it would be easier to take, you know, "We have lost engines, prepare for emergency landing!" *CRASH!!!* 'Sir we have lost the signal' type of thing.
