Hairy squigs are not the type just a condition some squigs have. The hair piece that Orks use are genetically called something other than Hairy.

No Tyranid The squigs have always been around for orks... food clothing pets.. Yea I don't like that idea. But no it is an entry in a 2nd ed book.

okay whatever. but i want you to know that a previous name is still a real name for any type of creature. if a creature is named when discovered it becomes it's name. if the name changes it's just a renaming. it's not like the name hairy squig is imaginary they just decided to change the name in 2nd. it's fine though. i think i've made my point someone else can answer this one.

In light of Matts correction the answer is a ...Gnasher Squig!
Hairy squig is just a generic name for any squig that is hairy I was looking for the specific "scientific" name of the type most commonly used for Hair.
And I'm kicking it back to Matt who should have posted in the first place.

For future reference, the name of a character should be fine, his ranking shouldn't matter. At some point he was a Captain. Just to clear the situation up on that. As for the questions, if someones question is from a specific edition then that is the answer they are looking for. Don't argue about it people just except it. This should all be in good fun, and allow some of us to learn more fluff.

I dunno, I think rank should matter. Kind of important in some cases.

As long as the name is correct I think that is the most important factor, where as the rank just denotes how high they have moved up in the ranks of the imperium. Correction on ranks are good to help with but overall, the name should be what matters.
