| Firstlook at this list.... its nice...
then... not enough tank hunting capability.. only two weapons on this list at higher than str7? i would say take another crisis unit with Fusion blasters.. or pihranas... that would fit the Mobile force... drop a troop choice for it.. or one of the Ion Cannon Hammerheads...

| If you do the math, skimmers aren't that much worse. A third of the time they don't even take damage at all.
The rest, well... then they get a bit of hurt. No more than a predator ever did though.

| thats a NICE list... im a sucker for tau.. like the models and concept.
anyways yeah you have so many skimmers that i wouldnt worry about losing 1 (probably gonna happen)..
fish of fury might be weaker because of run.. (thinking ahead) so be more careful when you do it (but still do it cuz its awesome!)
is 3 hammerheads necessary?
i would drop one for some more suits... or a stealth team with some kroot or something.
looks solid though you are on to something pretty i can tell you that much for sure. keep it goin!

| Stealth Suits In 4th they were a tier below the XV8s but I like them in 5th much better. A cheap burst cannon for horde, good armour and much easier to hide their footprint with LOS. No Kroot? | |

| The reason I took the three HH was so I could run two DF and HH. This way do the FoF with a HH IC back up. I have one HH with RG for tank busting and will likely be dropping my suites in the back near vehicles to bust em if I can. Thats why i did the formation the way I did it. | |

| DF=Devil Fish, RG=Rail Gun,IC=Ion Cannon, MT=Multi-Tracker, TA=Target Array, BC=Burst Cannon, MP=Missile Pod, PR=Plasma Rifle, FB=Fusion Blaster, DP=Disruption Pod Will add more if you need it. | |

| With 5th coming up I think the Ion cannons will suffice espescially if what everyone is thinking of hoardes taking over. And more troops will be needed. The Ion Cannons make for a better choice over the rail gun in this instance of course if one of the suits can get a rail gun that would be advantagous too. Also depending on what the kroot can take I would consider at least one group. | |

| Suites cant move and become just as costly to keep alive. They are a liability with this army. I would take kroot but I need the HH with a RG to tank hunt. I have maxed everyone out that I could, The only place i could lose points is in the commander losing stim inject, which gives him the feel no pain rule. Which I might drop anyways. But I took enough things to keep my tanks a live to get my guys where they need to be. | |

Railheads give you that really nice, big blast template to use. Many an Ork can be covered with one of those. If its touching its hitting in 5th

| I dunno man, with the new blast rules i think the template on the RG would even do better against MEQ than the IC would.
Plus you get that str10 shot too when you need it.

| True but then stupid MEQ get a 3+ save against it. | |

| I agree with Matt. While the ion cannon might be better against squads of terminators or something, the railgun submunition basically can't miss now with the new blast rules.
This also makes the Railhead more versatile as it can instant kill HQs, blow up tanks and put a hurt on infantry, where the ion cannon is marginally better against termies and MEQs

| Don't get me wrong come 5th it will be even nastier. But at the moment you can miss with your one shot of submunition and still only wound a handful of marines. | |

| ion cannon is even bad against terminators, ap 3 right?
the blast also has a chance to get a ton of MEQ models, depending how the dice go.

| Oh is it AP3 not AP2? Then I change my opinion to that it sucks if it can't get through tough armor either. Railhead for the win. | |

| Yea its only AP3, versus the AP4 for the blast template of the Railhead. It just annoys the piss out of me that as Tau have only a 4+ save which gets negated all the time, a weapon that only has ap5 standard, and cant fight in hand to hand combat worth a damn. Dear god when will the relief come....lol | |

| Oh quit your whining. Tau are way better than marines right now IMO, just any of the GT results average finishes.
The only problem is that firewarriors really aren't that great, and the best builds max the crisis suits and hammerheads and then run away from marines.

| Unfortunately that will get completely nerfed come 5th if your crisis suites and tanks cant take objectives. | |
