Hmm, i understand that you are working off of a guideline set by someone... but i have always really loved teh way that aspect warriors are treated differently by eldar culture. What I am getting at is that i would prefer if this fella was more different than the guardians. Something that really makes them stand out.

Also I think the hair choice is a bit weak, and perhaps just the hair would be enough to really separate it from the guardians. Something that really jumps off the model instead of looking like the armor with a harsher highlight.

Looks like a good start though, and the guardians look top notch... nice work on the decal!

Indeed, yet as you mentioned I'm following orders Wink

The hair is stage one of Bone (poor lighting on my paper plate) and not the off grey the pic suggests. Gems will be blue. I could push the hair to a pop yellow (?)

hmmm ok so after much speculation ive decided that your making your own craftworld colors? i like the ulthweish idea with dark colors and a highlighted gun. sorry i havent been paying enough attention to this threat its a shame i havent said anything. guardians are kind of annoying to paint heh esp when you consider their points value.

im excited to see how your banshees turn out.. they are quite challenging but the hair is beautiful and so is a full squad with power weapons.

question: did you paint the tiny teardrop on a few of the guardians? its on the face of the models right below the eye..

oh and i agree with matt.. do as much as you can to really highlight the HAIR on those mothers.... as well as the sword. can't wait for more!

*sigh*

So today was my dedicated paint day and I was moving along with the Banshees after some Empire work and for whatever reason I decided to "play" with my little squad.. c'mon, we all do it! Anyways, I did not like the look of them one bit. The green was too green and the bone cloth crasged with the hair. Quite a visual mess on the tabletop.

So now we have the chic below and while she is not complete you can see where I'm heading.. thoughts?

WB is very key in taking a good photo with true color quality. Make sure you take the pictures with "matched bulbs."

What I mean is that they are same make, wattage etc. Even different incandescent lights emit at slightly different wavelengths which confuses a lot of the WB software in your camera.

I'd even take them from the same lot. ie...no mixing bulbs from two different packs.

Above all don't mix natural light, florescent, and incandescent in any way. Really throws the whole thing off.

Well there is a nice pick up. I have all sorts of lightning going on in the basement. Its just time to break down and nab a light box.

Thanks again John.. most helpful as always.

Looks good. Is the crest up to white or only light grey? I think the model is tops but could use another highlight on that portion just on the edge.

It is indeed just the black/grey/lt grey so a white would be a snap.

Thanks
