| Do you have to ask your opponent if you can use a model that is created by Forge World like Shas'o R'myr. Can you use him with out saying anything and would he be allowed in normal tournaments? | |

| I thought I read somewhere a rule where it said that Forge World models of normal units are allowed, but models/units with Forge World-only rules are either disallowed in tournaments, or you need to ask your opponent's permission. | |

| Thats easy to answer... Is it in the codex, FAQ, or errata? If yes then does the character have any restrictions as far as points needed to field 'em if no then you can field him. Does the tournament allow special charaters? | |

| I'm certain that they can't be used in GW ordained tourneys, but maybe at a RTT. As to using them against an opponent, I would ask their permission and make sure they know what they are going up against. No sneaky surprises, as that leads to a lot of cries of "Cheese!" | |

| Answer the question numb nutz is he in the Tau Codex? If he isn't then no!!! Most Tourneys have a set of whats allowed and whats not allowed. Generally If they are not in teh Codex then the answer no. | |

| Forgeworld rules models are normally not allowed in tournaments unless specifically stated.
In pick up games I would just ask an opponents permission... although i normally don't like to face forgeworld stuff, it's pretty unbalanced.

| Many tournaments (Like GTs, Adepticon, Necronomicon) have explicit no Forge World listed in their rules.
Most RTTs will also not allow them even if it isn't posted about it. Obviously using the physical model is typically fine. Just not the crazy un-playtested Forge World rules.

| I got the answer directly from GW and they stated like the rest of you "NOPE" you can't use special FW characters. Oh well the only really good Tau commander can't be used lol. Thanks everyone. | |

| Probably not and kiss my BUTT you under grown ork. Actually Shas'o R'myr was quite balanced. If you haven't read his stats you should. He is not the greatest but he's better then the rest of the current special characters we have. | |

| Really, the standard "Build your own" HQ for tau is much better than that named crap anyway.
Next time you roll through ACME on a saturday, hit me up...you can use your forgeworld stuff against me whenever.

| Honestly if I can't use it in a Tournament I won't use it in a friendly game. I want to play the Tau the way you can in tourneys so I get a better feel for them. Even though I suck horribly with them. | |

don't worry man, I suck with them too...sitting back and shooting is not really my idea of a good time! I've been known to charge with Firewarriors....yeah...I suck that bad!

| If you're spending over 100pts per Tau HQ choice then you really need to rethink their role in regards to your armies success. Shame on you if you even read the Commander Bodyguard entry twice.. | |

| I never take bodyguards. I just take a commander with a Shield Generator, Plasma Rifle, Airbursting Fragmentation Grenade, HW Multi Tracker, Stimulant Injector | |

| so what do you do about those pesky fast moving people that catch you with power weapons or those weapons/shooters that ignore cover save that would kill you in one shot. Isnt keeping your commander alive worth the points for the shield generator. I am not tryin to sound like a smart a** I am seriously asking. | |

| You shoot them first or ignore them. A draw is not a loss. | |

| Ultimately its not a win, you only get points for a draw because they had to make the game fair somehow. | |

For a guy who loses....ALOT......A draw would be ausome......you don't need to win every game in history. I'm waking up and realizing that now. Maybe why I'm back with the Knights. I loved the challange of these guys......now with 5th, they were be more formidable. A better challange. can't wait till my first game with the new rules. Hopefully in a couple more weeks I'll be set!

Especially CJ's post. Anyone want to start a betting pool for CJ's 'restarts'?
