| Well to start off i am 100% newbie. I have seen my brother play years ago back in high school 10+ years ago.
Trying to find a new hobby to replace model trains and world of warcraft and after months of ready and listening to podcasts. I really want to give warhammer a go.
I have model making experience model trains just take up WAY to much space lol.
Just gotta couple of questions for you all.
Any good local games stores around? I live in Middletown so north or south is fine with me. Were/ when is a good place/time to watch a couple games being played. Want to get a feel for what i am getting into.
Thanks a bunch and have a good one.

| If you're in Middletown, your best bet is probably either Krystal Keep in Kettering or Bookery Fantasy in Fairborn, at least in terms of distance to you. In terms of the "when" of when to watch: I'd look at the forums either here under Make a Date or watch the announcement boards for those respective webpages. Saturday is usually the day when most of the War-hammering goes down. Any idea who you want to play? | |

| Still not 100% sure but i have limited down to Tau, space marines, or imperial guard. Tau is out in front at the moment. I really like the look and the idea the very futuristic look to them. | |

| Welcome...
If 40K and you are totally new I would start out with a small Space Marine army (around 750 - 1000 points). If you like them build them bigger if not your style find another army. The Black Reach is a good set you get Marines and Orcs two different play styles and looks. Plus you get a rulebook and templates. Just need Dice
Space Marines are nice to start because they are a base for all other codexs, When playing other Armies some are made for experienced players. If you don't know how to manipulate them in a game setting you will lose a lot and that can be discouraging. Tau just happen to be one of those armies.
Any questions just post it in the General 40k section and we will try to help.

| I live about 3 minuts from middletown and I have a gaming room if you ever want to stop by and get a 40k or fantasy game in. I also found the people at Sci fi, A lot more friendly than the people at KK, But your mileage may vary. | |
