My Word Bearers legion..updated..2010

Well everyone, i have started finishing up my Word Bearers... I think i am going to actually have a fully painted army soon... (Yes this does mean you need to pray harder as the world is ending...)

Heresmy one rhino finished but not based.. Let me know ideas before i spray it..










Heres my Land Raider (One of them... ) I see now where the spray missed and i will ink it to(Hopefully) fil in those spots...









And then a shootie dread.. Which is crazy in chaos.. but the arms may come off soon...

it looks like the Rino needs some of the edges smoothed out and the seams filled a bit

I like te face on the Dread-

heres some more stuff finished assembled and primed.. i think im going to magnetize the gun on the defiler.. but then i need to get the right size magnets.







the land raider got a second coat to fix what needed touched up..

so.... slow.... but at least theres progress... let me hear the chuckles at my painting.. hehe or just tell me its good... either way







yup... it took me 2 hours to do those..(Mainly cause i got sidetracked by another project.. hehe).. now time to work on the defiler itself..

after this its time for finishing touches.. gluing the lascannon on, since it wont stay by itself.. and the ccw.. the front claws wont be glued.. and the leg shields will be added soon.. yay.. time for the vindicator..

are you gonna give it any kind of wash or anything to dirty it up?

i dont think so... not for word bearers.. just seems to me that they keep their armour in pristine condition...

wow.. a year since ive worked on my word bearers.. Heres an update.. Let me know what you think.. the 1Ksons will get gold on the shoulders instead of yellow.. but eh.. lots to do.. a month to do it in..

I really recommend a wash, to bring down the color a bit and to make them look a bit more realistic.

Yea.. i start my paintjob with a red wash.. Makes it less shiny.. hehe

Are your bases made of cake icing??
I didn't know that Maybelline made lipstick for painting too, ha ha ha

Latest update... almost done with terminators.. yay?

I've got an idea for you that you can try (if you're willing):

On the purple/red use a black ink (for instance Badab Black wash from GW) as well as on the grey. Then, on the skull, use Gryphonne Sepia, and on the browns, use Devlan Mud. This will bring out the details and add depth to the model, which is never a bad thing. Then, as an aside, if you really wanted to add a look of daemon to the face and hands, you could use either the red or purple GW wash (can't remember the names ATM), and it would do the same, but also give it a colored depth as well.
