So what style of army is Beastmen?

All assault? Big Units? Horde? Magic? No Magic? etc.

Throwing feelers out there just in case I do decide to play.

I know they have the ambush rule, which is like outflank in 40k. I don't think they're super magic heavy. Beyond that, I'm not real sure.

their magic is middle of the road...alot of which can boost the abilities of the remainder of the forces. They can be built either as a horde army, with lots of smaller guys and utilizing the ambush rules. This lets you come into play from various table edges (as stated like outflank). You also have the ability to go the opposite way with them and field alot of bigger nastier things.

OK, yeah I would like to field some of the bigger units, with the littler blocks running interference...and yeah buffing magic is nice because you can support the units that may need it.

Ok, so beastmen may be it will have to read the rules first and go from there I suppose.

Not to overstate the obvious, but I'd wait until 8th. Right now Beastmen need some serious Generalship to work in 7th.

In 8th, their magic will be better, the lack of armor will hurt them less, and their monsters (read awesome Minotaurs and Tuskagors) will be much better

Magic is and always has been their weakness. I'm sure they will continue to have that issue even in 8th.

The gors are tough, the ungors less so.They have magic but is not the best.Chariots and Minotaurs and bestigors are all tough and hard to bring down without getting killed in the process.I prefer to kill them with connons and organ guns given the chance.Rob

Minos get a boost..

Beast Lore is rather good..

The new HUGE common magic item list covers some weaknesses..

Beastmen look solid to me bro..

Beastmen are good good good. Just forget that crappy lore in their book and take Lore of Beasts in the core book.

Like Marc said, the common magic items really help. As does the allowance of more heroes. Skirmish changes are pretty boss for your ungors, and since Initiative is so Dag gone important, your Gors are a lot better.

And Minotaurs are sweet. A unit of six of them and it's game over man, game over.

And Chariots are playable now, so your chariots are pretty boss. About the only thing that hurts beastmen in this new edition is their rare slots. So many points that in a normal 2K game, you're only getting one monster.

And the lack of armor will be your great equalizer. You'll kill a bunch of them, they'll kill a bunch of you. Good times, good times.

I already know what my Beastmen army is going to look like. Going to be pretty boss. bounce
