What are the rules for using converted models in tournaments?

In my case I have a slag troll but want to turn it into a pyre troll by using obvious modeling so that everyone would know it was a pyre troll. Would that be tournament legal if I have it converted?

I spoke with Rogue about this last night, and he said as long as it's obvious, no one should have a problem with it.
