| Trying to find the difference between prime and epic version other than the fact one is stronger than the other. Do you get to chose wich one you run, do you turn from one into another, is pan pizza better than flat? Thank you in advance. | |

| Stronger is no longer the case in MKII. They play differently, and as PP says, the models differ to be representative of different times in that particular warcaster's career. | |

| So you chose the one you want and just spend more points on the epic? The epic is usually stronger but different? Kinda like when your squirtle evolves? | |

| Mainly the differences are when the mini is in terms of the story and the characters progression.
Epic Versions are there because of momentous occasions in their life that cause them to focus themselves on different things in their life.
Be it:
Severious becoming the Head of the Church of Menoth
Irusk's defeat at a major battle then being forced by the queen to recommit to his protection of the motherland.
Denegrah's death and reanimation at the hands of her sister and Asphyxous respectively.
Lylith's near death experience where she was able to remove her anathic then having the dragon's mind forced back upon her.
Actual function mechanics wise is just a change in what the character does.

The epic version of a caster won't necessarily be stronger than the prime version, just different. Some epic casters are better than their prime counterparts, and vice versa.

| Are you allowed to take an epic caster in a smaller game? Or are they specific to higher point games? | |

| Mark 1 Rules: Yes, you had to be running at least a 750pt list to take an epic caster.
Mark 2 Rules: Nope. They are pointed for any game. from 15pts up... like any other caster.
