I ended up with some FoW German models in my possession, the owner moved away from Cincy and I have no contact info (Ken, if you see this, PM me
). I was wondering if I had anything playable. I've got NO idea how FoW is played. I have heard that it's more akin to 40k than any 'proper' historical wargame, so I've never really had the urge to play it (I like honest-to-goodness historical WWII games).
Here's a list:
(This is all early to mid war stuff)
8 Infantry stands (Wehrmacht)
4 HMG stands
3 2-man infanty stands (assumed to be platoon command?)
3 motorcycles with sidecars w/ MG-34s
1 motorcycle with no sidecar (assume to be a command stand for the MGs?)
3 Pak 40 AT guns
1 two-man stand that appears to be a command stand for the Pak 40s
3 JU-87-D Stuka Tankbusters with 37mm guns
3 Kubelwagens
3 Panzerwerfers (Maultiers)
3 Pz.IIIs with short-barreled 75s
and
3 unknown light tanks
These tanks look similar to 38(t) hulls, but they don't have the same turrets. Plus, they have Pz. MkI suspensions, rather than the road wheels of the MkIIs and beyond (according to all images of Battlefront/FoW tanks I found).
I looked around the FoW online store as well as the Warstore (and a couple other places) and I could not locate this tank anywhere, so I have no idea what it is supposed to be. It isn't even recognizable to me outside of FoW.
So, I don't think this is anything of a cohesive force, but is it playable enough to demo the rules a bit? No? Didn't think so...
