Terran Wars was a home-grown set of miniatures rules written and published by an Ohio Gaming Club back in the early 90's. It's a very simple ruleset for large or small scale battles which focuses on ease of play while still retaining tactical necessity. They would (and still do IIRC) run the game at the Detroit Cons and at Origins.
TW is the reason I bought a lot of GW Space Marines: those are the miniatures I used to play the game.
