Imperial Pods Empty
PostSubject: Imperial Pods   Imperial Pods EmptyTue Apr 24, 2012 5:52 pm

This a project i started last year - and now it lives in a box! I picked these plastic hexagonal boxes up at a store that was closing. They cost almost nothing. (I think they held 'precious moments' figures!!) I am making them into 'modular' terrain pieces. They are getting doors & windows (portholes) and some have rooftop defensive positions.

I have a boat load of these - when I get enthused again I'll finish painting them. I thought about mounting them on boards, but now you can build a maze out of them - they function almost like hills. Maybe I'll bring them out to Yotta's next Lazy Sunday Tournie thing.

I was going to make them look kind of 'new' - but I have been using some cool rust effects of my vehicles
(like the 'marmite' overpainting I saw online) so look for them to get a lot rustier & grittier.
Once i get the whole batch to the same 'level' of finish - I will do a huge rust/grunge fest all at one time.

I have Orked a couple up too - one of them is a cool Big Gun emplacement with a battlewagon turret.
