| I'm Justin, just stopped in to say hey. For right now, I just play 40k, but there are a lot of other games I'm interested in. I just had my first 40k tournament! Pretty exciting even though I came in dead last, lol. I just started playing, mostly pretty far north though in Centerville at Epic Loot, although the tournament I made it down to was at Eastside Games and Cards. | |

| Hello, and welcome. I was at that tournament and took second to dead last. What other games are you interested in? | |

| You were the daemon player, yeah? Well, I talked to Shaun about it a bit, I like the fantasy genre but not the game style as much, so maybe the Lord of the Rings table top, and eventually I might try Hordes (Warmachine) as well. | |

| Hi!
I spend a lot of time up at Epic Loot playing Warmachine. The crowd up there is really cool. I also know a few of the Warhammer Fantasy Battle guys as well, seems like a very nice community all around.
It's a bit of a hike for me (around an hour 1 way) but all the cool people really makes up for that. I'd much rather drive a bit to hang with some decent people, you're lucky it's right in your back yard!

| Well considering I'm not psychic I appreciate your leniency Definitely, I had a good time and I will be there in March for sure. I might drive down sometime for just some fun games. What times/days do your 40k players normally show up again? We do have a very active Warmachine crowd at Epic Loot as well as a few fantasy players and some smaller games. I really like the shop, it's about 15 minutes for me, I'm there quite a bit. | |

| Well, as I made that last post a ton of people started showing up on Fridays! Imagine that, lol. I still plan on making it for the tournament later in the month, though. I am getting into Warhammer Fantasy even though there aren't many fantasy players here. Do you guys have a decent player base for fantasy? | |

We have plenty of WHFB players at Art of War every Saturday. Some of them swing both ways (40K and Fantasy) so normally you can get games of both in.

| I would suggest choosing an armythat you think is cool, by models and/or story. And once you have chosen an army work out how you wanna play it. There are plenty of people that can help out with tips and tricks for your army.

| Solid advice. It's what a lot of other people have told me, as well. I really like the look/fluff/models of Vampire Counts. Unfortunately, 3/5 people at my shop apparently play VC, so that's a pretty big turnoff.
I think I'm going to want an army that is magic heavy with a lot of heavy infantry/cool special/rare choices. Vampire Counts seems to fit that with things like Grave Guard and the Black Coach. I've been trying to see if any other armies catch my eye.
Wood Elves seem cool, but have a lot of metal models and are really outdated/weak from what I've heard.
Tomb Kings might be a possibility.
