1850 Necron Empty
PostSubject: 1850 Necron   1850 Necron EmptyTue Jan 22, 2013 5:30 pm

Hi gang! It's been awhile. I've been doing alot of Dropzone Commander as well Infinity and for ****s n gilggles, I thought I would put together a Necron list since Tau are taking forever. Now this doesn't mean I'm coming back to the game....unless........DUHN DUHN DUHNNNNNNNNNNNNN...

So here's at it.....feed back please!!

1850 Pts - Necrons Roster - Necron Test

Troops: (HQ is within and will be with this squad) (Squad will be used to centralize itself around mid Table. Also Overlord will be my Warlord when called for)
Immortals (11#, 380 pts)
Overlord (Infantry; Warscythe; Sempiternal Weave; Resurrection Orb; Phase Shifter)
10 Immortals (Tesla Carbine)

Troops: (Just so I can have some more Tesla love)Immortals (10#, 170 pts)
10 Immortals (Tesla Carbine)

Troops: (11#, 245 pts) (The hurry up last minute to claim objectives gang! Park n shoot!)
10 Warriors
Ghost Ark

Elite:(on paper they look sick......DS them in....claim a nice fat enemy and let them rip em to shreds. Preferably one thats sitting on an objective)
10 Deathmarks @ 190 pts

Fast Attack: (The PITA gang. And that's all they will be used for. Cause trouble, hold up foot sloggers and tie up bad guys)5
Tomb Blades @ 225 pts (Nebuloscope; Shadowloom; Shield Vane)

Fast Attack: (Just cuz I always loved them....also PITA's. Objective hunters, troop killers)
5 Destroyers @ 200 pts (Gauss Cannon x5)

Heavy Support: (just cuz I think it's cool)
1 Annihilation Barge @ 90 pts (Tesla Cannon; TL Tesla Destructor; Quantum Shielding; Living Metal; Vehicle (Open-topped, Skimmer))

Heavy Support: x2 (Why wouldn't you? Park and Shoot. That's it! It's the Tau equivelant of a BIG gun)
Doomsday Ark @ 175 pts (Doomsday Cannon; Gauss Flayer Array (each side); Quantum Shielding; Living Metal; Vehicle (Open-topped, Skimmer))

Total Roster Cost: 1850

One thing that I see in my opinon that your list is lacking in is anti flyer crons have some of the best flyers in the game for there point cost in my opinion second only to the heldrake. Im not saying make a cron air list but i would at least run a couple of night sycthes as transports especally cause the new faq made them even better. personally I think that the wraiths are a better choice then the tomb blades. just my personal opinion we will talk more on it later.

Updated.....Tweaked so I can have my Tomb Blades. I ran Wraiths before. And lost them fast before getting into hand to hand. Remember 6th edition is all about shooting.....So that's what I got.

1850 Pts - Necrons Roster - Necron Test.2

HQ: Overlord (11#, 380 pts)
10 Immortals (Infantry; Tesla Carbine; Reanimation Protocols)
1 Overlord (Infantry; Warscythe; Sempiternal Weave; Resurrection Orb; Phase Shifter; Ever-Living; Independent Character; Reanimation Protocols; Upgrade to Phaeron)

Troops: Immortals (11#, 270 pts)
10 Immortals (Infantry; Tesla Carbine; Reanimation Protocols)
1 Night Scythe (TL Tesla Destructor; Aerial Assault; Deep Strike; Living Metal; Supersonic; Vehicle (Fast, Skimmer))

Troops: Warriors (16#, 295 pts)
15 Warriors (Infantry; Gauss Flayer; Reanimation Protocols)
1 Night Scythe (TL Tesla Destructor; Aerial Assault; Deep Strike; Living Metal; Supersonic; Vehicle (Fast, Skimmer))

Elite: (190 pts)
10 Deathmarks (Infantry; Synaptic Disintegrator; Deep Strike; Ethereal Interception; Hunters from Hyperspace; Reanimation Protocols)

Fast Attack: Tomb Blades (225 pts)
5 Tomb Blades (Stealth; Jetbikes; TL Tesla Carbine; Nebuloscope; Shadowloom; Shield Vane; Reanimation Protocols)

Fast Attack: (220 pts)
5 Destroyers (Jump Units; Gauss Cannon x4; Heavy Gauss Cannon x1; Preferred Enemy; Reanimation Protocols)

Heavy Support: (90 pts)
1 Annihilation Barge (Tesla Cannon; TL Tesla Destructor; Quantum Shielding; Living Metal; Vehicle (Open-topped, Skimmer))

Heavy Support: (175 pts)
1 Doomsday Ark (Doomsday Cannon; Gauss Flayer Array (each side); Quantum Shielding; Living Metal; Vehicle (Open-topped, Skimmer))

Total Roster Cost: 1845

This gives me 2 really good Air units to help cover and give air support as well. What do you think?

Here are some additional thoughts on your list and you may find that you want an additional troop choice with most missions being objective based.

1850 Pts - Necrons Roster - Necron Test.2

HQ: Overlord (11#, 380 pts)
10 Immortals (Infantry; Tesla Carbine; Reanimation Protocols)
1 Overlord (Infantry; Warscythe; Sempiternal Weave; Resurrection Orb; Phase Shifter; Ever-Living; Independent Character; Reanimation Protocols; Upgrade to Phaeron
Solid HQ and troop choice but I don't think Phaeron is necessary withe 6E rapid fire rules.

Troops: Immortals (11#, 270 pts)
10 Immortals (Infantry; Tesla Carbine; Reanimation Protocols)
1 Night Scythe (TL Tesla Destructor; Aerial Assault; Deep Strike; Living Metal; Supersonic; Vehicle (Fast, Skimmer))
Again solid troops, I don't think they need the NS, I think they would be better off on the ground utilizing their superior tesla weapons. Cover and 2 inch spacing are their friends.

Troops: Warriors (16#, 295 pts)
15 Warriors (Infantry; Gauss Flayer; Reanimation Protocols)
1 Night Scythe (TL Tesla Destructor; Aerial Assault; Deep Strike; Living Metal; Supersonic; Vehicle (Fast, Skimmer))
Would consider adding a Cryptek w/ veil in case the NS is destroyed before they get to deploy. It's an awful big unit to have to foot slog from your table edge, late in the game. I myself prefer 2 units of 5 warriors in NS for late game contesting and control of objectives.

Elite: (190 pts)
10 Deathmarks (Infantry; Synaptic Disintegrator; Deep Strike; Ethereal Interception; Hunters from Hyperspace; Reanimation Protocols)
Best used as suicide squads in combination with a Cryptek w/ abyssal staff in a NS

Fast Attack: Tomb Blades (225 pts)
5 Tomb Blades (Stealth; Jetbikes; TL Tesla Carbine; Nebuloscope; Shadowloom; Shield Vane; Reanimation Protocols)
You could probably drop the nebuloscope as they are already twin linked.

Fast Attack: (220 pts)
5 Destroyers (Jump Units; Gauss Cannon x4; Heavy Gauss Cannon x1; Preferred Enemy; Reanimation Protocols)
Not sure on the Heavy but it's more a personal preference thing. Cover and 2 inch spacing is their friend.

Heavy Support: (90 pts)
1 Annihilation Barge (Tesla Cannon; TL Tesla Destructor; Quantum Shielding; Living Metal; Vehicle (Open-topped, Skimmer))
Solid choice and it's also pretty good against flyers.

Heavy Support: (175 pts)
1 Doomsday Ark (Doomsday Cannon; Gauss Flayer Array (each side); Quantum Shielding; Living Metal; Vehicle (Open-topped, Skimmer))
I've never played with or against one of these but I honestly think 2 more annihilation barges would be better, Imho.

Total Roster Cost: 1845

This gives me 2 really good Air units to help cover and give air support as well. What do you think?

I love the smell of gauss/tesla in the mourning, it smells like Victory! Yea Man this list is looking tough. Final thoughts...The wraiths are an assault unit, no shooting for them, move, run, move, assault preferably on the enemies weak flank. Use those beamer points for another Cryptek give him the veil (keep the cryptek in with the deathmarks just without the veil) attach to one of the Immortal squads, any remaining points go to whip coils and I think your ready to rock! Smile

OK...looks like you are only allowed 1 option to take a Cryptek through the royal court so I can Veil them around the table after I DS them in from the flyer. So took off the beamers and added to Coils. I got 3 4 of them on and gave the Cryptek the Shroud also just to be a Tickle in case anyone gets too close. Pretty happy with the list. I could foot slog the Deathmarks since i have the veil and add another Barge. Then I can remove the shroud,,,,and take those extra 20pts and coil all the wraiths....what do you think?? Here's the first option explained:

1850 Pts - Necrons Roster - 1850v3

Your choice CJ both look solid.

You can only get one veil per RC, but you can take up to 5 Crypteks and 5 Lords per RC. They can all be different or the same. I've seen deathstars run this way. Good luck with your Necrons! Smile
