The boxed set has the following essentials:
1) Throwing template (probably could replicate with tape measure)

Really the throwing template & field could be the hardest to do, depending on what the measurements are on the throwing template.

I got blocking dice by joining the NAF.

I think it'd fun to make a field. I like making stuff.

You do a good job with it, I'd be interested to see what you come up with.

I broke out my board to get you some official measurements.

The field is 26x15 squares, with each square being 1 1/8". The last square at each end is marked off as an endzone, making the playing field more like 24 squares long. There is also a line 4 squares in from each side running the length of the field. I can't remember why.

One thing I missed, which isn't essential: there are also a set of "dugouts" for each time, which all the players to be sorted by status, and also track turn and re-rolls left. Probably can get away with stacks, and some dice.

There is also a "bounce template numbered from 1-8 pointing to each of the possible squares from a central one, probably can fake this with a d8, and just go clockwise.

Honestly, I like making things too, but the game is a pretty good deal for GW at $83, which will get you two teams (which usually run $50 a piece) plus templates, dice, rules, etc. Between a couple of things going on with the house, Warmachine, and some other stuff it's cheaper time wise to buy their stuff.

The passing template is also a bit goofy. It's marked off at the following intervals:
Quick Pass: 4 3/8"
Short Pass: 8 3/8"
Long Pass: 12 3/8"
Long Bomb: 15 1/2"

Maybe these measurement make more sense in metric, but this seems harder to replicate.

Bah! That's cheating! You need to spend like hours slaving away with foamcore and an x-acto knife to produce something really epic, not just d/l a file, and print it out!

Ok Bloodbowl box is in. I've looked over a few things and i will have a posting by the weekend for the league!!!

I would encourage players to be playing to get used to the game.

Looking good! I'm starting to get excited about the league. Also been playing a bit online in the FUBBL leagues. Very cool java version of blood bowl, with tons of people.
