Here's my current favorite combat patrol list. A S5 I5 teleporting hero and a PF squad leader with 5-7 attacks hitting on a 3+. And I have 5 more points to add wargear.

I've also rolled with this one, which trades close combat for more ranged firepower

Sadly, I'm forced to grossly overpay for the privilege of having two missile launchers. Perhaps I should make a regular space wolves list for combat patrol?

My lack of a landspeeder is un-forgivable, i'll have to rectify that when i get a chance

Here is the breakdown..

Each day I take my KinderKid to the bus corner at 1145a and pick up at 300p

On Mon, Wed and Fri I have to drive my 4yr old client to preschool at 1245p and pick up at 245p

So how about something like this: I roll in on a Mon-Wed-Fri early in the am <9am, we start gaming and depending on how the game goes, take a kindergarten bus stop intermission and if need be finish up before 12:45 when your charge needs to go to preschool? We'll also need to feed the little ones lunch, but I can help with that if you need too.

I think we can wrap a 1750 game up in under 3 hours.

The downside would be my army. No Tyranids in house this week so just the Tau (unless you want empty bases all over the place)

Tau is great, I've never gotten a chance to fight them. As far as your combat patrol force, personally I'd go with DE to be different, you don't want to steal Chad's thunder. Although you could probably field a whole heck of a lot of orcs even at 400pts.

Agreed. I just read CJ bought $100 of Orks as well.
