CAG Escalation League

Wanted to probe the boards for interest in an escalation style league for Warhammer Fantasy to kick off the new edition. We would start @500pts and work towards 2250 or 2500pts (whatever the circuit dictates) painting/collecting as we go. I'd like this to begin a week after the July release.

The goal is to start a strong Warhammer Fantasy contingent similar to 40k, but with full painted armies.

The end result being the 1st annual CAG WFB BASH (*working title*) Autumn 2011

We would have bi-monthly goals of the predetermined point blocks. Have painting sessions at local stores as well as titanic struggles as fully painted armies clash to the bitter end.. (ahem, I'll get my coat..)

I would be interested but will not be back till the fall. If you could find a way to pull me in when I get back, I could just start at whatever point level you are currently running at or something...let me know...if its too much of a coordination nightmare then dont worry about it, but as I prefer fantasy to 40k i would love to participate.

I am not starting until then because the system of the game is totally changing.

Also, 500 points is not going to be a good starting point. With the percentage system (confirmed) some armies are totally out. Like Mortals of Chaos.

Fair enough, but lets get a solid core concentrating one way or another. Lets have a united front, not a this store versus that store. If AoW wants to sponsor a WFB CAG tourney and you'd like to run said event, then the reins are all yours my friend.

I don't want to speak for Kain but I bet AoW would love to sponsor a WFB event for the fall. My only thought is make sure you plan around the big 2 day even they have up at Krystal Keep (Maruders Mayhem?).

Art of War will support the Escalation league, and the work is already beginning for a Fantasy event.

Once we get 8th in my grubby Fantasy loving hands, I will have the wife read it to me, as it's obvious I don't know how. Once I know the point levels and such, we will kick the game into serious gear.

Get ready because Fantasy 8th is coming, and it's going to rock your face off!

and they just announced new daemons for 40k and fantasy for august release....sweeeet. I hope they make the Tzeentch flying circus viable again.

Its just a model release. There are a copple other post I can list if you want, but the early rumor was it was a new Codex, but it has been mostly confirmed as just new plastics.

When is the 8th edition supposed to come out? I've got a VC army that's in hiatus while I work on my 40k tourney (and hordes and warmachine) army paint job.

July 22nd.

I would not mind sponsoring a league but I do have limited gaming space.
