| Trying to get some clarification on Units and Charging.
I know Units receive orders to charge and if one charges they all do assuming they got the order.
Now the question is....after the charge order is given, do they:
A. Charge as a unit and they choose models individually?
B. Charge as a unit and all have to charge the initial model/unit?
My thought is A, but looking for some input.

| A!
Warmachine Units each activate as a group, but each model is separate.
You would:
1. Activate Unit
2. Declare charge order
3. Select a model, declare charge target, move model
4. Repeat 3 for all models in unit. All models who fail to end in melee with chosen target lose their attack.
5. Select model with attack still, perform attack.
6. Repeat 5 for all models that may still attack.
*note: if a multiple models in a unit charge the same model, and it does not take all of the models that charged the unit to kill the model; all other charging models may still make their attack on any model in their melee range. However, if the model is not the declared target of a charge, you do not get the charge bonus on the attack (+1 damage dice).

| Note, too, that each model in the unit can opt to run instead of charge when receiving the charge order. | |

Can someone clarify the bolded above part/the example below. (apologies if it's worded poorly.) Say a unit of 5 Bloodweavers delcare a charge on a Pyre Troll. I move all 5 models into base 2 base with the troll and then resolve attacks. The Pyre Troll dies after the 3rd model attacks. Do models 4 & 5 now just stand there and loose their attacks assuming there isn't another model close enough for them to attack?

| Yes, if there is nothing there for them to attack.
If instead that your Bloodweavers were charging two Bastions (multiwound Med. base infantry). One of your guys charges a Bastion, but engages both of them. Say that Weaver's charge target was destroyed by prior charge attacks. Now the Weaver had a successful charge - finished its movement in melee with its target - but the charge target is no longer there. You still get all your initial attacks - in this case against the other Bastion - but you WILL NOT get a boosted damage roll, since it was not your charge target.

| I see. That makes sense.
In my head it seems like it should go...
Declare charge--->Move model--->Resolve attacks--->Repeat with remaining models in unit.
That way you wouln't have to potentially "waste" attacks.
Thanks for clearing it up for me.

| Glad it's clear.
Your way would be more convenient a lot of the time but moving the WHOLE unit, then attacking with the WHOLE unit makes the game move much faster. Units are finicky enough. The way it works now is I think the most expedient way to resolve a charging unit.
