Because people did all there complaining when the faq came out months ago. Most people have adapted.

The most egregious one, in my opinion, was shadow in the warp not affecting psychers in transports. Then they did not rule on the hive tyrants reserve bonus, iirc. Anyway, yeah, Nids got a kick in the junk.

The only thing that was BS is the Shadow in the Warp and transports. I was a little bummed about the Doom not affecting squads in tansports also, I was rockin' with that! All in all the bugs are still awesome reguardless of the faq.

What about the reserve bonus are you talking about? The fact that they are not accumalative? If so, use the Swarmlord with a tyrant.

Whether or not you get the bonus it the brood lord is on the table or not (reserves).

I'm assuming you mean Swarmlord.

The INAT faq says the tyrant or Swarmlord has to be on the table to get the reserve bonus, same with the deathleper and lictors. The only army that allows a unit or charatcter to be off the board and receive a bonus for reserves is the autuarchs of the Eldar, which specifically states they can be in reserve themselves. Hope this helps.

I just don't get it, as if its not hard enough dealing with armor lists like the ig leaf blower and eldar invincible tank list. Mech is king as of now and nids just get the shaft. There is no way you can compete against a list with 3 vendettas with 9 TWIN-LINKED las cannons, 3 russes with str 10 pie plates and six chimeras all with multiple meltas in them that can fire as they move. (hilarious now that the las cannon isn't the end all tank killer anymore they just make them twin linked for the guard so they still kill whatever they shoot) Much less six to seven wave serpents and/or falcons that zip all over the place contesting everything at the end of the game becauce you cant kill the Dag gone things. Even every competetive marine list runs ten thousand rhinos so you cant get to the soft marines on the inside. Oh well I'm just going to shelf my nids for now and make a guard list.

Dude, no need to shelve them. What would you wait for... a new 'dex? You just need to change tactics. My Big Bug list has been doing well. I had to playtest and add this... take away that, but turned out well. Don't give up on the Hive Fleets man.... tweek and adapt.

Yeah, don't give up. Leaf blower is on its way out. The Sisters (?) codex online removes the last of the ally rules. Now, when they finally get updated, ally rules will be totally gone and Leaf Blower will be vulnerable to deep striking threats. Armies will change and we'll see a lot more opportunities.

I play Demons and Tau and no way will i let a very powerful build stop me from playing this game.

PDF's don't replace the codex. If you have the codex you can still use allies. This has been discussed already clarified and verified for truth. Smile

That's why I said when they finally get updated. I meant it as a portent of the future. Sorry if i wasn't clearer. No one army list stays on top for ever. Where are Nob Bikers now?

Most people are stuck on some sort of Marine or Guard. DB Cooper Con this past saturday had only 2 players that played a xenos army....Tau and Bugs.

Are tyranids considered the top tier xenos army at this point in time? It is probably between them, Eldar, and Orks right. If so, xenos is in big trouble here folks.

Oh, and back to the original topic. Yes Tyranid did take a pretty nasty hit from the nerf bat with this FAQ. Adapt and overcome I understand, but what bugs me the most (hehe, *bugs*) was that fact that many of the rulings seem completely out of the blue and unnecessary.

Good thing Warmachine came out with a spectacular new rule set to distract me from the dumpster fire that is the Tyranid Codex.

The nerf of the Doom...not affecting troops in transports. Also shadow in the warp not affecting psykers in vehicles, even though Eldar's Runes of Warding still affect them or psychic hoods from marines and IG. To name a few examples.
