I know I am in the minority, but I really like the new line. I think it's about time GW took the empire away from the "historical" and more in the the "fantastical"

I am working on my empire army - and it is mostly 'older edition' figs. Looks pretty historical - but I think you have to have some fantasy elements to be somewhat competitive -- and it lookslike it is getting even more so. I have resisted getting carts & altars (instead I like artillery) but it is probably time to get into that.

I do have a great old pewter griffin - so I don't have to buy the monster one! The Demi-Griff knights look interesting, too - and the 'hunter' characters.

I still think the gun line artillery Nulhn style army will be playable. The nice thing about the 8th books is the fact they provide multiple styles of army builds. I don't think any of those play styles will be tier one just because the "classical" sixth edition books still exist (I'm looking at you Dark Elves and Warriors!)

I personally like the new models! Maybe not the chariot thingy. The war alter is ok, But definitely like the Karl Franz and DemiGryphs.

The magic wagons are a little much for me - I'd probably just use part of it and steal some bits for my Ork 40K army...

The Demi-Griffins do look good. I just finished scratchbuilding some greatweapon knights - and now I have to get those. After much online whining about the rumored unit -- it looks good and has good numbers - I think they will be popular!

Couple of the characters look cool too. I will be kitbashing for a while!
