EGC 40K League Starting 4/29/12

Warhammer 40,000 League

League consists of five rounds with two weeks per round. Round 3 is three weeks long to accommodate Origins. Play your match any time within the two weeks by working with your opponent to find a date that works for both. If you have a crazy work schedule or very limited availability, this league may not work for you.

Deadline: Friday April 27th
Register by providing your name, phone number, and email address to Eastside Game and Cards along with your $10 entry fee.

Prizes
Prizes for the league will be determined by the amount of participants. For each player participating, $10 in-store credit is added to the prize support. For example if we have 12 players, then $120 of in-store credit will be awarded by the store owner. The amount to be awarded to winners (1st, 2nd, …) will be announced when the league launches.

Rules
2000 pt List. Round 1 list is due (email to me) before 4/27. You may change your list if you submit your new list prior to the beginning of the round.

Round 1 – May 2nd - May 20th
Round 2 - May 21th - June 10th (3 weeks long to accommodate Origins)
Round 3 – June 11th - June 24th
Round 4 - June 25th – July 8th

First round league pairings will be announced April 29th. First round of matches will be randomly selected. Rounds 2-5 will be Swiss pairing. Scoring within the rank will be based on W-L-D with VP deciding ties. Scenario for Round 1 will be posted several days in advance of the start of the league. Player contact information will be distributed with name/phone#/email for players to schedule league games. Match results will be emailed to participants along with pairings for each round.

I have decided to run with the Adepticon Scenarios with only slight modifications. We are playing 2000pts and I will need to draft a 5th one.

There will also be a rule for no shows. It was not a big problem in the first league I ran last year, but I want to put something in place ahead of time in case it does.

If you schedule a game, do not show, or make it difficult on your opponent to complete a game within the 2 week round, you will be awarded a loss, 0 objectives, and 150 victory points. Your opponent will be awarded a win and the average number of objectives and victory points awarded to the winners in that round. If this occurs and you have concerns about the decision, please raise them to the league organizer (me). If no compromise or agreement can be reached, the store owner (Clint), settles the differences.

Bottom Line: Be flexible in scheduling your game, show up and have fun.

A little slow getting started. Several players signed up just after the deadline. I am going to get the pairings setup and adjust the first round to be an extra half week long.

I have also decided to stick to the 4 rounds to keep things consistent throughout.

Dates for the rounds were adjusted because we got a late start allowing some last minute players to sign up.
