A Farewell to 5th
As we all know 6th edition is right around the corner so I will be hosting a 40k Tournament at the Bookery in Fairborn on June 16th as A Farewell to 5th edition. It is 1850 pts., three 2 hour rounds. $10.00 entry fee. Store opens at 10:30, start rolling dice at 11:00.

This is the Saturday before Fathers Day so all you dads use your free pass for Fathers Day and come out and help us give a final send off to 5th edition 40k. Awards will be in the form of store credit, consisting of all entry fees and GW prize support (yes it is still available).

Call or stop by the Bookery to sign up or post in this thread and I'll get you on the sign up sheet. Of course walk in's are welcome but are subject to space availability. Scenario's will be posted in the coming weeks!

I'm starting off with some basic stuff first. Each mission will have 3 objectives. Primary = 7 points, Secondary = 5 points, Tertiary = 3 point. The objectives will be explained for each mission, most points win the game. It's basiclly the same as most objectives win the game (which seems to be popular right now) except that the point values will ensure there are no draws. Pretty standard stuff.

Over all Tournament scoring is as follows: 1) W/L record, 2) objectives (1st tie breaker), 3) victory points (2nd Tie Breaker)

Mission 1

Pitched Battle/Mod. Sieze Ground (4 objective markers), Players roll off for first turn. The player that goes first places the first objective.

special rules: infiltration, deep strike, reserves, outflank,

Game Length: 6 turns

Line of Retreat: Units fall back towards their own nearest table edge

Objectives:

Primary: Have more units in enemy deployment zone than he has in yours. (any unit including transports)

Secondary: Kill points

Tertiary: Objective markers (control more than your opponent)

Mission 2

Spearhead Deployment

Special Rules: infiltrate, deep strike, reserves, outflank

Game Length: 6 turns

Line of Retreat: units fall back towards their own nearest table edge

Objectives:

Primary: Seize Ground (5 objectives), Players roll off for choice of first turn. The player that goes second places the first objective.

Secondary: Kill all of your opponents HQ choices while having at least one of your own HQ choices alive at the end of the game. Dedicated transports attached to HQ choices do not count for this objective.

Tertiary: Control the table. To secure this objective you must have at least one unit wholly in every table quarter. This unit need not be scoring. Transports can hold table quarters.

If no objectives are achieved by either side, most victory points wins.
