Wood elves

Any tips for building a wood elf spirit host?

Beyond what I told you at the shop, I have no other ideas. Your choices are limited to:
Lord or noble with one of the forest spirit kindreds
Spellweaver or Spellsinger with Glamourweave
Drycha
Orion
Treeman Ancient
Branchwraith
Dryads (only core choice)
Wild Riders
Treekin
Treeman

This isn't a bad mix, but it is very low on shooting and Wood Elf magic isn't real good. It will give most melee armies a good run though.
Even though the Treeman hasn't really shown his stuff the last few battles, they are really tough and I include one in just about every WE army I build. You got to love the dryads. There isn't a better core unit choice out there better for 12 points. I almost always put at least one unit in every list.

I don't like fighting wood elves!

I don't know how often you've played against them before, but last saturday was not a victory for the wood elves, but the high elves, or more specificaly the star dragon all the wood elves did was kill a squad of skinks, a block of plague bearers some globadiers, a stegadon, a skink mage and a warplock engineer.A also generated 7 of our 11 dispell dice. I could be wrong, but i doubt that adds up to my 2000 points.

its not the idea i lost saturday it was all there annoying rules and abilities.... with some good old tactics they are the scourge of fantasy. don't get me wrong i hate all elves especially high elves.... Especially since they always go first.

don't play down what you did, if you hadn't taken as much heat as you did, I wouldn't have been able to do what I did. We were a team, we won as a team.
