| Love Fantasy and I have spent some time thinking about my favorite units. So I'd like wht every body's favorite unit is.
My favorite for the core is Empire Vanilla knights. they're pretty expensive at a but over 20 a piece, but they're a core choice, the can take a magic banner, they hit hard on the charge S5 with lances, and are darn ridiculous to kill with their 1+ armor save.
My second favorite is Bretonnian peasent bowmen. I love these guys. They are by far the one of best cannon fodder in the entire game. Several giants and demon princes have fallen under a hail of arrows. These excelent fellows have won me several contests by due to the fact that my oponent will concentrate on my Knigits and I march these guys unopposed to occupy a table corner. And if they die who cares!

| My favorite unit has to be the warlock engineer, it gets one of the best spells for Skaven if not the best and can only get that spell | |

| Hmm, hard choice for me. I love my Bret pegi knights but the Ogre Rhynox riders are pretty awesome. Then there is the new High Elf White Lion chariot or the Wood Elf Dryads...choices, choices. | |

| Stupid can openers. I hated Fanatics in 6th Edition, no armorsave at all. It seemed appropriate that GW toned them down a bit, but they still are pretty awesome. Until they they accidentially go through that unit of black orcs. Ouch! | |

| Black Knights, used to be called mounted Wights. The only thing in the last Vampire Counts book that had any staying power and damage potential as rank-'n-file. | |

| I kinda' new but I really enjoy the Ironbrakers especially in a smaller unit with a lord lurking and the rune of Sticism to double unit size, nice bat for somebody. | |

The Rune of Stoicism gives double everything correct. What does this do for LD. This doubles as well? If so, thats a ton of LD. This also doubles the size of the unit from ten to twenty. Is the extra ten soldiers free?

| The rune only works for numbers as I understand it. It does not physically increase the unit nor does it do anything for LD. but then the guy with Chaos knights charges with 5 knights to the 10 and thinks he has auto out numbered you in combat when his unit strength is 10 ans you 2-3 losses on the charge you you get to denie that point because you actual unit strength with 2 losses is still 16, so you win the point for outnumber, and if you add the SB gives you a +1 so the 2 losses are negated, your with a lord you will be rolling against his Dis usually a 10, so the potential of a unit to hold is high. Thus charge is broken and you have a very expensive unit locked in combat with very tough unit.
When I have played, the few times I have the ironbreakers are often on of the units left on the table.

| I understand now. So its only for Unit strength only. Still thats alot considering.
Do you use the other 25 points or save that for different units?
As you can see, Im trying to learn the strengths and weaknesses of the Dwarfs army and building army list.

| I will always try to rune up. Magic that can not be countered is always nice.
Assuming you can get people to fight you and not run around you( which they will try to do often)
I also really like my anvil of doom, magic in the shooting phase which can not be dispelled is also very nice( but you will need to protect it as it comes with it's own bullseye)

Do you like to give the Anvil of Doom to Legenary Charcters like, The High King Thorgrim Grudgebarer, or somone likeThorek Ironbrow? Or do you just give it to a Runelord or a Thane? From what Im understanding of the Anvi Of Doom, it has some consequences, and cetain limitations. You have to understand, Ive only been able to understand the negetives to most of the Runes. As the AB only tells me the limitations and what happens bad, if... Im still a Virgin at this game. I need some game......

| I don't care for the high king outside the very cool fig. He is to big and is a large target, making him easy pickings for everyone
I usually just run the runelord I have run the characture and there are some benefits to him.
A recent WD has stats that look really fun if you can find a sucker to play you. It is the White Dwarf on shield. Gotrex and Bugman are the shield barers, with something like 14 combined attacks and the ability to heal a wound a round a 1k and not being legal for tournament play he looks really fun but rarely on the table.
I have not played in a very very long time, so I have no doubt that the dwarfs have been nerfed by the newer Army books. This is a GW SOP from what I have seen in the past.

Take heart, their book is better than the last. Magical warmachines like the gattling gun can now mow down Dryads like nobodies buisness. The current rune system is pretty cool to. Oath "we-don't-need-no-stinking-flanks" Stones... enough said. Their only downside is those short legs. Which is sort of hard to negate without destroying the game. - Gotrex wrote:

Have heard about this guy. Already had a rundown on him from George. Talk about a fluff nightmare. Then again I still have my Nagash model, wouldn't mind seeing his current stats.

skirmishing, multi wound, multi attack, etherals with terror Holy smokes Batman! I haven't used Wraiths as a ranking unit type since.... errrr the Undead book. Before the great schism! Okay they are skirmishers, but that's still a unit type. I guess GW decided that these figures not being used in game-play for over a decade meant they needed a revamp. .. just wow... been so long...

| Nagash isn't in the book, because they made it focused on the Vampires with Necromancers only being minor support characters. You can't field and Necromancer Lord anymore, much less the Granddaddy of them all. | |

| Anyone who could fight Sigmar in hand to hand and mortally wound him before getting toasted probably wouldn't fit in the current rules. | |

| It's not about his stats, do You know who Sigmar is? If not Sigmar was the dude that united the Empire together and kicked major ass, supposedly twice, through reincarnation (Volten?) and killed Archaon but was killed by an assasins blade shortly there after. So no, no treeman would be able to take him down, only a true special hero or some stupid Skaven ass But I thinks its his time to resurface to take on Grimgor Ironhide! But he would just get slaughtered seening as Grimgor is the best character in the game imo... | |
