I think it looks great! And your fire is extremely realistic looking (IMO), especially so for a first time...

I saw a tutorial in an old white dwarf when they did the plastic Balrog. Moving from white to yellows to reds to black. I think it really was a question of proportions of each to get it right. The hardest is the areas between the metals.
