Tau Conversions

I was wondering what are some easy conversions which make reposinting rare parts on tau suits and drones? I suppose also the tanks and the Infantry as well since Im going to be adding some more of them as well for apoclose type battles.

reposinting? Do you mean repositioning? Or representing?

representing sorry I know im bad at that I have been working on it but it is very slow but anyways back to the tau I know the shield drone one useing the shields that come with the suits but the problem is I would need a lot more shields than I have right now

In my opinion, if you don't have them, then don't field them.

Shield Drones are very Useful I have the Drones themselves but not the shiled part i have 2 or 3 true shield drones then the rest i just use gun less drones to represent.

You need the Crisis Shield Generator bit?

Do you have any Power Fists?

i have few of even close combat weopens i do not bleive i have any power fists. Besides my termies I do not even have a power fist in my whole army

Any Marine Hvy Weapons? Lascannon spec

Backpacks?

Molded shoulder pads?

Legs?

Tank or Dreadnought parts?

got a lot of tank bits hvy weapons i have a few including a number of spare missles peope.....ill have all my parts with me sunday. Got back backs and some shoulder pads.

Ok got a few ideas so far. The simplest one I know of is the pulse carbine to sniper looking gun which looks cool. only qustion I have on it is what are the cables(have some models someone else made and I am trying to copy them on the guns) the hardest part I am haveing is trying to figure out a way to make my suits look differnt from standard old suits and look cool. any ideas?

Give them all spikes or close combat weapons for flavor, or something like that. The cables are actually tyranid bits that my bro. used from gun gaunts.

some general conversion advice is to keep it simple. Also keep it within the flavor of the army. If you stray too far you really do need a ton of talent to pull it off.

You havent seen my hammer on my tau commander the point of adding spikes and such is to show that I have beaten long odds to win so wierd close combat battles. They just add to my story also(still working on it will come into play more in apoc then anywere else) The hardest part will be getting conversions for my stealth suits and tanks I draw a blank on them

I understand having conversions to fit with a back story. But making your models actually look good has next to nothing to do with a back story.

If a conversion relies on a backstory to work, then the conversion is probably not too good.

Not that I know yours is good or not.

I have done a fair bit of converting in my time though. Also, if you make a post asking for advice, when you get advice I'd try not to act defensively as a first reaction.

Get some pics up of your conversions so that we can help some more.

You are correct I need to add pics......and what I was saying was noit ment to be defensive though it ended up being Ill try to put up the pics on what I have done so far today if I find the time

The Green Tau are upon us

Nice WiP Bruce. Check for a Macro (tulip) button and then snap off a shot of his bum for us too.

his back side is all green sadly but yea they have been green for over a year now(like 6 suits and 6 fire warriors) Im going to try to add the stim injector and the extra armour since I always give him that stuff

there goes my color scheme out the door.....

lol mine is green,black(for the guns), red(for the eyes and such) and other random colors

ok...I guess I'm safe....not all my suits will stay as green as they are....I'm mixing it up a bit.....I'll show everyone what I mean on the next suit.

look foward to seeing it. but like I said all my units will have the same clolor sheme, my drones will be black since they themelves are equipment for suits and tanks
