Anyone know if this is a Mark 1 Marine?

I've had this model since 1990 or so.





I got it from the guy who first introduced me to Warhammer 40K. He told me back then that this was an early space marine design from Rogue Trader days. I've tried to compare it to the various generations shown here:

But haven't been able to make a direct comparison.

Maybe it's an actual Rogue Trader?

looks more guardsman than marine, just my 2 cents

it should have an imprinting of the name on the flash in between his feet.. unless that was a newer thing...

All it says on the base tab is "GW 1985"

He is an Imperial "Ground Combat Trooper" from the very first set of Rogue Trader minis. He is one of the original 20 or so minis that were ever created for the 40k universe. This guy came from the same set as the legendary Adeptus Custodes model. He is an ancestor of the Imperial Guard Storm Troopers.

That's a pretty old and rare model you've got there.

Did you find that info somewhere or are you just old enough to remember?

EDIT: I just found this miniature in an ended Ebay sale and they do indeed say it is a ground combat trooper. I wish I could find more history about those initial Rogue Trader releases.
