My first chapter! Sallies are cool, have cool fluff and an even cooler style.

They prefer flamers/melta weapons over other more standard heavy weapons (although they use everything). They are also master artisans, so they make use of master crafted equipment and some of the more valuable vehicles in a marines armory (dreads and terminator suits).

Of course a lot of this is just fluff, but it does help you to start a themed army.

The new codex space marines is rumored to have Chapter Master Tu'Shan of the Salamander chapter as one of the new special characters.

Very fluffy, very fun to play fluffy and cool to look at.

Too bad they didn't make them a codex from Armegeddon like the BT Sad .

And yeah, they were my first Marine army too. I can't help but remember the anti-melta armour for tanks.

The Salmanders were a fav of mine. Flamers in their Assault squads, Preds with HvyFlamer sponsons and of course the Necron-like armour.

A snap to paint as well. Booger Green, black pads with freehand flames.

Yeah, although they remain quite a bit more competitive than the BT as they aren't constrained by a codex that wont be renewed for years and years.

It still would've been cool to see an all Salamander codex.
